5 Benefits for a Business Having a Custom Domain Email Address
Here are several benefits of having a custom domain email account when you’re running a business.
1. Free Advertisement
One of the most obvious yet very overlooked advantages of having a custom domain email address is that it promotes your business without you actually having to put in any extra time or effort. And the best part of all is that it does not even cost you anything. Whenever you contact someone using your custom email address, it has the domain, most likely with the name of your business included in it. If anyone sees it enough, or in some cases even just once, they will become automatically familiarized with your organization's name. This creates a domino effect of people talking about your brand due to it being present in their subconscious and, as a result, thinking of affiliating with it more as well.
2. Easy Organization
People often mistake thinking that they do not need a custom domain email address if their business is still in its initial stages; that a custom domain email address is only of use for larger organizations. However, what if your business is small, but you plan to expand it at a fast rate? How will you keep track of all your departments and employees if you are not used to handling so many things yourself for your business? If your company already has a domain email address, you can simply assign a professional email address to every new employee you hire. Their data will then automatically be synced into your company’s database, and it will help you keep track of all the business operations easily.
This benefit is multidimensional as a custom domain email address helps you save time in more ways than one. First of all, it helps you save time in organizing the business’ affairs, as we have mentioned above. Secondly, it helps save time when you need to find a specific email as you do not have to skim and filter through all your personal emails to find the one that has to do with your business. You know that all the emails are business-related in this particular email account. Third, it saves you the time it would take for you to convince people of your credibility. When someone sees that someone from an organization has an email address with a custom domain, they inherently start believing that it is a credible person coming from a trustworthy organization.
4. Increases Discoverability
When you have a custom domain for your business, it improves the SEO score of your website all by itself. This happens because search engines are programmed to look for the domain's root on every site. Your custom domain will directly be linked to the type of business you are running, but a generic domain will not tick off this same box for you. Hence, if you have a custom domain email address and it is stated on your website, it will be ranked higher by any search engine when someone searches for anything relevant to your business. This will also be a part of your marketing strategy, as the entire point of search engine optimization is to help market your website, brand, or anything that you are trying to sell online.
If you are running any kind of business, then it means that your email account must contain a lot of private and confidential information. Free email service providers do not usually provide the level of security required to protect such huge amounts of important data and put it all at risk. If you have a custom domain email address, you also can add as many security checks as you want. This gives you more control, and it results in your data remaining private and much safer than it would be otherwise. When you have full control over the security checks in place, you are better able to handle the situation and get to a conclusion in case of a breach of privacy.
